Calculation data – simply measure directly at IMPETUS

Characteristic values for plastics are required in numerous development and production steps in product development, for example in material pre-selection, for process simulation or for checking a stress case.

With several thousand plastic material types and the dependence of the material characteristics on temperature, duration, speed and frequency of a load, as well as on the component geometry, it is understandable that there are always incomplete or even no accurate data sets.

You would like to have a component designed according to process technology or load, but material data for the simulation is missing?

Impetus has its own specimen molds. In our injection molding center in Bad Aibling, we manufacture the required test specimens, e.g. for determining anisotropic data or shrinkage values. If required, we mill test geometries from the test specimens (according to DIN EN ISO 20753) and also measure a number of important characteristic values directly in our test laboratory, for example on our tensile testing machine.

Tensile properties tests according to DIN EN ISO 527

  • Measurement of stiffnesses and strengths, recording of stress-strain curves
  • Tensile properties at different test speeds and temperatures
  • Determination of anisotropic, mechanical material behavior by means of tensile tests
  • Compression tests up to 10 kN

Testing of bending properties according to DIN EN ISO 178

  • Determination of stiffnesses and strengths
  • Recording of force-displacement diagrams
  • Bending properties at different test speeds

Of course, we process the measurement results in a targeted manner, e.g. in order to use them for material models in mechanical simulation.
